Meet Phillip
Service has always been at the center of Phillip Jones' life.
After graduating from the United States Naval Academy, Phillip served as a Marine Corps infantry officer leading missions across four continents. He later earned graduate degrees from Harvard University and advised organizations across the country before bringing that experience home to Newport News.
Today, as Mayor, Phillip is focused on creating safer neighborhoods, expanding opportunity, and ensuring Newport News remains a city where families can thrive.
Phillip and his wife, Dr. Jamila Wynter, are proud to call Newport News home as they raise their son, Alexander.
